YOP CREDIT PROGRAM
The Youth Opportunities Program is administered by the Department of Economic Development's Community Development Division. It targets positive opportunities for youth and the discouragement of criminal and violent behavior.
The Project Overview
Eligible donors can receive a 50% of their donation for their contribution to Life Skills' project. The credits can be applied directly to the donor's Missouri tax liability.
Your donation will help Life Skills cover costs associated with Life Skills' YouthWorks program. YouthWorks helps low-income youth complete their educations, develop job skills through employment training, gain employment experience before leavingn their educations institutions, find employment opportunites and to retain a job. These YOP credits will serve a critical need, as federal funding of the program has been eliminated.

Qualified Donations
Cash gifts of $1,000 and up and stock gifts of $1,000 and up from eligible donors to the YOP project provide you with a 50% tax credit on your Missouri taxes.

Life Skills is a non-profit charitable 501(c)3 organization. Please consult your tax advisor to determine the tax deductibility of your donations.
Example: If you give $5,000 to Life Skills, you will reduce your bottom line Missouri tax liability by $2,500 (50% of gift). You can deduct this amount from your taxes any time over the next five years. And your entire gift is deductible on your federal income taxes as well.
