Feeling antsy at home all day?  Take a quick minute find out how youccan change uninterested to INSPIRED!

Top Three Ways To Get Involved This Summer...
How do you spend your leisure time? Do you enjoy shopping at the mall, watching a movie at the theatre or attending one of the many events or attractions in and around St. Louis? Many of our clients feel the same way but don't have transportation or a friend to accompany them.

Perhaps you'd be interested in taking a Life Skills client along with you during one of these outings. It's easy to do once you
become a Life Skills Friend in Deed volunteer. Plus, it's a lot of fun for our clients and extremely rewarding for you.

Here are some Ideas:

  • Visit the MUNY! Many seats are free plus it's a great way to get outside and experience the nation's oldest and largest outdoor theatre.
  • Venture out of doors to Purina Farms! Located in Gray Summit, MO, Purina Farms combines a tourist center and two canine competition areas. Show and field events as well as hands-on activities and exhibits great for Life Skills clients.
  • or... teach valuable at-home skills for by attending a cooking class at Dierbergs! Small class sizes create a friendly, informal atmosphere with plenty of time for camaraderie, questions and, of course, tasting recipes!

Of course, Life Skills can provide you with with a list of attractions that are suitable for our clients as well as information
about discounts or special admission fees.

We're thrilled about this new program and hope you choose to take a moment this summer to impact the life of someone in your community!

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend in Deed must complete an application and participate in our screening and training process.
