Life Skills, a local non-profit organization that assists people with developmental disabilities to live and work in the community, recently held a cocktail reception in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Midwest BankCentre sponsored the event at its Winhaven Branch in O’Fallon, Mo.
Life Skills introduced more area employers to their exceptional employment program. The evening included a short presentation on Life Skills’ program. Afterwards, potential employers mingled with current Life Skills’ employers and clients.
Life Skills works with more than 130 employers throughout the St. Louis area by preparing 350 people with developmental disabilities for meaningful employment through individual skills assessment, job coaching and ongoing retention services.
Life Skills, a United Way agency, has assisted people with developmental disabilities to live and work in the St. Louis community for more than 45 years. Life Skills currently helps more than 1,500 adults and teens to live in their own home and to find and keep a job. For more information, please visit
