Espinosa peers out onto the surface, looks down, grabs a ball from a nearby bucket, gently places it in the tee box and launches the ball an incredible distance.

The past few months at Life Skills are filled with mixed emotions for me. While proud of the accomplishments of staff and clients, I was deeply saddened by the loss of Joe Lott, one of our strongest advocates and supporters. Joe’s contributions to Life Skills date back many years and are listed in this newsletter. Peter Moisio designs and sells greeting cards, plays basketball, tap dances and volunteers for three different organizations.
He also has Down syndrome. At 48, Moisio lives with his sister, Pat Ciapciak, who recently entered him in a contest to have his picture displayed in Times Square during the National Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk.
When he was chosen as one of the winners, Ciapciak was also given the opportunity to write Moisio’s story for the society’s My Great Story campaign.
